How to Re-Calibrate the Big XII to Function Properly

With all the Big XII shakeup that has gone down lately, rumor has circulated about new additions to the Big XII now that Nebraska and Colorado are doneski.

Personally, I believe one hot prospect would be the Hofstra Pride, currently of the Colonial Athletic Association (dominated by such high-caliber teams as George Madison, Georgia State and Delaware). The Pride have been my main boyz in NCAA Football 08 for the PS2 since who knows when, and seeing their prospect, I believe they would be a very valid fit in the Big XII. In all of my franchises, they’ve climbed straight to the top of the national standings, beating out such traditional powers as Ohio State, USC, and Texas with ease. Each game would result in a majorly lopsided score, typically around the ballpark of 114-0, with Hofstra successfully converting on 4th down 95% of the time, and going for fake field goals sometimes even on a 3rd down! They are exceptional at onside kicks, kicking them every single time and recovering them every time also. The other team is lucky to ever even get their hands on the ball! I think Hofstra could cause a lot of damage in the Big XII, to be honest. Located in Hempstead, New York, Hofstra seems to be a good geographical fit for the Big XII teams. While many people whine that the teams should be geographically related to each other, I believe that since sports are such high pressure events, it would be good to let our athletes just take a break sometimes in scenic Long Island!

In addition to Hofstra, I believe that it would be appropriate if the Utah Jazz stepped down to the college level and joined the Big XII conference for basketball. I know these boyz and I just hate to see them get dominated every season by other, more highly-paid NBA teams like the Boston Celtics and the LA Lakers. All the talent of Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams is being wasted in a league that the Utah Jazz quite frankly are not yet prepared to compete in. I know that the other leagues would squawk that Big XII teams get to play against a full-fledged NBA team in the regular season, but head coach Bill Self was quoted as saying this, “Oh, it’s Utah…” Furthermore on that note I believe that a few exhibition games should be played with Euroleague teams such as Real Madrid, the Olympiacos, and CSKA Moscow.

My final addition to the Big XII (to make it in effect a Big XIII) would be the University of Phoenix. It is about time that online colleges get their fair chance to be represented in athletics in addition to their stellar academic programs. I am 100% sure that there are many able and qualified Phoenicians (what University of Phoenix students like to call each other) just itching to represent the college in basketball, some with high school experience, some with possibly even YMCA league experience. A typical practice at the University of Phoenix includes going home, logging on to Xbox Live and playing NBA Live 09 against each other online. Their practice showings were impressive at best, with the team, playing as the 1998 Phoenix Suns scoring 90% of attempted 3-pointers and going for slam dunks every time they don’t attempt a 3-pointer. Games were very lopsided, and at this pace I don’t see why the University of Phoenix has not already been snatched up by conferences such as the Pac-10 or the Big East.
